Overview

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Barista to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for coffee, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. As a Barista, you will be responsible for crafting high-quality beverages, maintaining a clean and organized workspace, and creating a welcoming atmosphere for customers.



Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, espresso, tea, and specialty drinks, following established recipes and presentation standards.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers, taking orders accurately, and addressing inquiries or concerns promptly.
  • Operate and maintain coffee-making equipment, such as espresso machines, grinders, and brewing devices, ensuring optimal performance and cleanliness.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including counters, equipment, and seating areas, in compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Handle cash, credit card transactions, and other payment methods accurately, balancing the register at the end of shifts.
  • Restock supplies, such as coffee beans, syrups, cups, and other inventory, as needed.
  • Engage with customers to build rapport, recommend menu items, and promote specials or loyalty programs.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during busy periods and maintain a positive work environment.
  • Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure the quality and safety of all products served.
  • Assist with light food preparation, such as pastries or sandwiches, as required.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a barista or in a customer-facing role preferred but not required.
  • Strong knowledge of coffee preparation techniques, including espresso extraction, milk steaming, and latte art, is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with customers and team members.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Basic math skills for handling cash and processing transactions accurately.
  • Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems is an advantage.
  • A positive attitude, eagerness to learn, and passion for delivering high-quality service.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds.
