Overview

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Barista to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for coffee, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. As a Barista, you will be responsible for crafting high-quality beverages, maintaining a clean and organized workspace, and creating a welcoming atmosphere for customers.

Responsibilities

Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, espresso, tea, and specialty drinks, following established recipes and presentation standards.
Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers, taking orders accurately, and addressing inquiries or concerns promptly.
Operate and maintain coffee-making equipment, such as espresso machines, grinders, and brewing devices, ensuring optimal performance and cleanliness.
Maintain a clean and organized work area, including counters, equipment, and seating areas, in compliance with health and safety regulations.
Handle cash, credit card transactions, and other payment methods accurately, balancing the register at the end of shifts.
Restock supplies, such as coffee beans, syrups, cups, and other inventory, as needed.
Engage with customers to build rapport, recommend menu items, and promote specials or loyalty programs.
Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during busy periods and maintain a positive work environment.
Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure the quality and safety of all products served.
Assist with light food preparation, such as pastries or sandwiches, as required.

Qualifications

Previous experience as a barista or in a customer-facing role preferred but not required.
Strong knowledge of coffee preparation techniques, including espresso extraction, milk steaming, and latte art, is a plus.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with customers and team members.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Basic math skills for handling cash and processing transactions accurately.
Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems is an advantage.
A positive attitude, eagerness to learn, and passion for delivering high-quality service.
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds.
